All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ********************************************************* Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber JS, Number 22, Folio 339 Know all Men by these presents, that I Abraham Borland of Cecil County in the State of Maryland, in consideration of the Sum of One-hundred dollars, Current Money of Maryland, to me in hand paid by Matthew Borland of the Same County and State aforesaid, at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained, sold, released and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Matthew Borland the following Goods and Chattels – that is to say: One brindle cow; One Dun Cow; One field Cow; One brown Steer two year old; calves, three hogs, two beds and bedding, one case of drawers, one Walnut table, six rush bottom Chairs. To have and to hold, all and singular the Said goods and Chattels by these presents bargained and sold, released, granted and confirmed, to the only proper use and benefit of the Said Matthew Borland his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, freely, quietly, peaceably and entirely, without any contradiction claim of hindrance of any person Whatsoever. And I the said Abraham Borland for myself, my executors and administrators, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents, to the Said Matthew Borland, his executors, administrators and assigns the Said described property, against me, my executors and administrators, all and singular the aforesaid goods and chattels unto the Said Matthew Borland, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, against the said Abraham Borland and my Executors and administrators, all and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim the Same or any part thereof, Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof, I the said Abraham Borland have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this seventh day of March in the year Eighteen hundred and -. Abraham Borland Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Alexr Kinkead State of Maryland, Cecil County, to wit: On the seventh day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty-five personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the State of Maryland’s justices of the peace in and for Cecil County Abraham Borland of Cecil County and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed, and the property therein mentioned and thereby Granted bargained and sold to be the right and property of Matthew Borland therein named, according to the true intent and purport of the same, and according to the Act of Assembly in such case Made and provided.
