The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber MD, Number 4, Folio 417 RECEIVED of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company of Baltimore City, One Hundred Dollars, in consideration of which we hereby grant unto said Company, its successors and assigns, the right, privilege and authority to construct, operate and maintain its lines of telephone and telegraph, including the necessary poles, wires and fixtures upon, over and across the property which we own, or in which we have any interest, in the Fourth District, County of Cecil and State of Maryland, and upon and along the roads, streets, or highways adjoining the said property, with the right to permit the attachment of the wires of any other Company, and the right to trim any trees along said lines so as to keep the wires cleared at least eighteen inches, to erect and set the necessary guy and brace poles and anchors, and to attach thereto, and to trees the necessary guy wires; said sum being received in full payment therefor. And for the right to cut down trees that may interfere with the lines. This grant is for the line as the poles are now set. Five guys are to be placed on my land as follows:--Beginning at the West on the 2nd, 4th and 5th poles guy wires to enter ground not more than 7 ft 8 in from poles; on No 6, 15 ft from pole in line of fence; and on No 7, 9 ft 4in as now located.
