The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Know all Men by those present that I Henry PEIRCE of Chester County in ye Province of Pennsylvania Executor & Administor of Francis SMITH late of Cecil County in the Province of Maryland am held & firmly bound unto Robert EYRE of ye same county & province aforesaid in ye full and just sum of Two Hundred Pounds current money of ye sd Province according to proclamation to be paid to him ye sd Robert EYRE his heirs, executor or administrator or assignees to ye which payment well & truley to be made & done I bind myself my heirs, executors & assignees firmly by these presents sealed with my Seal & dated this sixteenth day of February Ano Dom 1721/2. The Condition of ye above obligation is such that if ye above bound Henry PEIRCE shall well & truely (?enforce?) such Agreement or Agreements or articles as shall be made or is agreed on Between him the afsd Henry PEIRCE & ye the afsd Robert EYRE, namely that ye sd Henry PEIRCE doth covenant with ye sd afsd Robert EYRE shall have all that part of a tract of Land on Elk River called KNOWLEWOOD formerly belonging to Francis SMITH with a title beginning at a banded water oak at ye lower Corner of ye sd tract at ye mouth of a little Cove on ye River & running up ye sd River by a Strait Line to ye mouth of a Cove called ye Shallop Cove to a Corner Plum tree standing in mouth of ye sd Cove thence running parallel with ye sd (?outside?) line only (?abating?) Fifteen poles ye upon end of ye sd SD Tract of Land in Breadth but not ye lower end if therefore ye sd Henry PEIRCE shall well & truly affirm ye sd condition herein mentioned that then this obligation is void or else doth stand full Force virtue. Signed: Henry PEIRCE Sealed and Delivered in the presence of John & Elizabeth WALLS Know all men by these presents that I, Robert EYRE, of New Castle on Delaware, carpenter, for and in consideration of five shillings to me in hand paid by Thomas COLVILL of Cecil County in ye Province of Maryland, merchant, have assigned, transferred and made over and by these presents do assign transfer and make over unto ye said Thomas COLVILL his heirs, executors & administrators & ass., all my right, title, interest, claim and demand of ye within bond as witness my hand & seal this twenty third day of March 1729/30.
