Bretton of this Province, Gent, a parcel of land lying on ye east side of Chesapeake Bay and on ye north side of a river in ye said Bay called Elk River, until it intersects a line drawn from Plumb Point Creek, 500 acres, more or less. This Indenture, made this Thirty of April, in ye Eleaventh yeare of ye Dominion of ye Right Honorable Charles, Absolute Lord and Prop'ry of ye province of Maryland, &c., Anno Dndi, between Jno. Sewele, of Calvert County, in the province of Maryland, Gent, and Ann, his wife, of the one part, and James Robinson, of Cecil County, planter, of the other pte. Witnesseth, that whereas Wm. Thompson, of Charles County, Md., Gent, son and heir of Mary, sole daughter and heir of Wm. Bretton, late of St. Mary's County, and Victoria, wife of ye said Wm. Thompson, of ye one part, and Jno. Sewele of the other, did by their Deed of Fooffrnend, bearing date the 18th day of May, 1685, in consideration of 5,500 lbs. tobacco, paid by said Jno. Sewele to the said Wm. Thompson and Victoria, his wife, conveyed and make over to ye said Jno. Sewele all that parcel of land lying on ye east side of Chesapeake Bay and on north side of Elk River, until it intersects a line drawn from Plumb Point Creek, 500 acres, more or less, in Cecil County. Now This Indenture wittnesseth that ye said Jno Sewele and Ann, his wife, for and in consideration of 10,000 Ibs. tobacco, paid by James Robinson, have granted said land to said Robinson.
