MD Deed Book 5 p. 48 Dated 28 Aug 1734 This Indenture Witnesseth that I Thomas Stratton of Cecil County in the province of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of Sixty and five pounds current money of the said province to me in hand paid by Robert Patton of Cecil County, yeoman have given granted bargained and sold forever a certain Tract or parcel of Land Scituate and lying in the said County and being a part of Two tracts of land the one called Hispaniola and the other Bulins Range which said Tract or parcel of Land is a part of three hundred Acres of Land which I the said Thomas Stratton purchased of Samuel Alexander late of the above said county as may more at large appear by a Release or deed unto the said Samuel Alexander’s hand and Seal bearing date the twentieth day of March in the year one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine the said Tract or parcel is bounded as followeth: Beginning at a certain Hickory being the south west bounder of the Division line between me the said Thomas Stratton and the heir of John Macknit late of the above said County the said Hickory being marked with twelve notches thence running north nine Degrees westerly Seventy Six perches thence north West and by North one hundred and five perches thence north East and by East ninety six perches thence South East and by South Two hundred Twenty and Six perches thence South West and by west Eighty perches thence North Eighty and two Degrees westerly fifty perches thence with a straight Line to the first containing and now laid out for one hundred and fifty acres be it more or less… (signed) Thom’s (his mark) Stratton Hannah (her mark) Stratton Wits: R’d Thompson Hance (his mark) Patten Margrett J.
