All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ********************************************************* Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber WGP, Number 1, Folio 27 THIS DEED made and executed this 16th day of May, AD, nineteen hundred and eighteen by and between Camillus P Carrico and Marie S Carrico, his wife of Cecil County in the State of Maryland, and Wesley L Grant of Cecil County in the State of Maryland, hereinafter called grantors and Daniel T Arbuckle of the County and State aforesaid, hereinafter called grantee. WITNESSETH, that: whereas the said Camillus P Carrico and Marie S Carrico, his wife, are seized and possessed of two adjoining tracts or parcels of land situate at Cecil County aforesaid, and have sole and agreed to convey the same free clear and discharged of all liens and incumbrances unto the said grantee, and; WHEREAS the said Wesley L Grant is the assignee of a certain mortgage from William J Grant and wife to John Lungren dated the 19th day of February, AD 1885, and which is now of record in Liber JAD, No 9, Folio 432, etc, one of the Mortgage Record Books of Cecil County aforesaid, which is the first lien on part of the real estate hereinafter mentioned and described, at the request of the other of said grantors therein, has joined in the execution hereof, for the purpose of releasing that part of the said real estate which is herein and hereby conveyed from the operation and effect of his said mortgage lien. NOW THEREFORE THIS DEED WITNESSTH, that the said grantors for and in consideration of the full and just sum of one thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars, current money to them in hand well and truly paid by the said Daniel T Arbuckle the above named grantee, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted and by these presents do grant unto the said Daniel T Arbuckle all those two adjoining lots, pieces or parcels of land situate lying and being in the village of Cherry Hill in the Third Election District of Cecil County aforesaid, which are described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING for lot No 1, hereby intended to be conveyed, at the South west corner of a lot formerly of Moses Paxon and running thence in a westerly direction, along the line of land now or formerly of Mary A Grant, one hundred and three and five sevenths feet to a stake, thence in a Northerly direction, along another line of land now or formerly of the said Mary A Grant, seventy two feet to a stake, thence by a new line in an Easterly direction one hundred and three and five sevenths feet to the north west corner of said lot formerly of Moses Paxon, and from thence by a straight line in a Southerly direction seventy two feet to the place of Beginning; it being a part of the second parcel of land mentioned and described in a deed from William S Moore and wife to Calvin M Blake bearing date the 17th day of March, AD 1910. and which is now of record in Liber CK No 2, folio 146, etc, one of the Land Record Books for Cecil County aforesaid, and also being the same lot or parcel of land which was conveyed to the said Camillus P Carrico by the said Calvin M Blake and wife, by deed dated the 30th day of June, AD 1913, and which is now of record in liber[sic] CK No 6, folio 373, etc, another of said Land Record Books. AND BEGINNING for the second lot or parcel of land hereby intended to be conveyed in the middle of the public road, leading from the town of Elkton to Fair Hill, at the Southeast corner or[sic] Joseph L Gibson’s lot and running thence with said Gibson’s line, west one hundred and twenty five feet, thence South seventy four feet to the land leading form the said public road to Mary A Grant’s house, thence with said lane east one hundred and twenty five feet to the middle of said public road, thence with said road North seventy two feet to the place of Beginning; containing nine thousand one hundred and twenty five square feet of land, more or less; and also being the same piece of[sic] parcel of land which was conveyed unto the said Camillus P Carrico by J Hibbs Buckman, executor of Moses Paxon, by deed dated the 28th day of March, AD 1911, and which is now of record in Liber CK No 4, Folio 14, etc another of the Land Record Books for Cecil County aforesaid. TO WHICH SAID deeds and the deeds and papers therein referred to, reference is thereby made for a more accurate and particular description of the two lots, pieces or parcels of land, hereby intended to be conveyed, together with the buildings and improvements thereon, and erected and being, with their appurtenances, thereunto belonging, and appertaining. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid lots or parcels of land and premises, with their appurtenances forever in fee simple. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF the said Camillus P Carrico and Marie S Carrico, his wife, and Wesley L Grant have hereto set their hands and seals the day and year first herein written.
