Bill of Sale from Eli HARRIGAN/HARGAN to Matthew BORLAND (1858)

Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber WHR, Number 1, Folio 58

I Eli Harrigan of Cecil County in the State of Maryland, in Consideration of the 
sum of one hundred and ten dollars, paid me by Matthew Borland of the said 
County & State, do hereby bargain and sell, unto the said Matthew Borland, the 
following property Viz, Two Black Cows, two hogs, twenty bushels of corn, one 
Cuba[?] and two bureaus, one stove, two Tables, six chairs, two Rocking Chairs, 
one set of fine Queens Ware, twenty four yards of Carpet, one Clock, one dough 
Tray, one looking glass, one stand, four Wash Tubs, one thousand bundles of Cow 
fodder, four pigs, one Family Bible, three fether[sic] Beds, twelve quilts, one 
conerlid[?], twelve spoons, twelve Knives, twelve forks, twenty four plates, one 
picture, four Baskets, six pots, two Brass Kettles, two Wash Bowls and two 
pichers[sic].  Witness my hand and seal this Ninth day of February in the year 
of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fifty Eight.

I hereby Certify that on this Ninth day of February in the year of Our Lord one 
thousand Eight hundred and fifty Eight, before the subscriber a Justice of the 
peace of the State of Maryland, in and for Cecil County aforesaid, person[sic] 
appeared Eli Harrigan and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act 
& deed.
