Bill of Sale from David M SHERER to Matthew BORLAND (1860)

Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber WHR, Number 3, Folio 401

I David M Sharer of Cecil County State of Maryland, in Consideration of the sum 
of Seven hundred and fifty dollars, paid me by Matthew Borland of the said 
County and State, do hereby bargain and Sell to the said Matthew Borland the 
following property.  One bay Stud Horse, one Gray Mare, one bay horse gelding, 
one Wagon, two dearborns, one Ox Cart, three sets of Harness, one plow, one 
Harrow, one black Cow, one Red and White Cow, three shoats, Eighteen sheep, one 
half of one Fan, one hundred bushels of Corn, two hundred parts White Oak, one 
Lot of Wood down in the Woods, four acres of Wheat growing, two stoves, four bed 
steads, four feather beds and bedding, two Bureaus, two Cupboards, one Chest of 
Drawers, twelve Windsor Chairs, all now in the possession of the said David M 
Sherer, on the farm Which he purchased from William Magraw.  
Witness my hand and Seal this thirtieth day of March in the year one thousand 
Eight hundred and Sixty.

I hereby Certify that on this thirtieth day of march in the Year of Our Lord one 
thousand Eight hundred and Sixty, before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace 
for the County and State aforesaid, personally appeared David M Sherer and 
acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act.  And at the same time and 
place also appeared Matthew Borland the party to whom this Bill of Sale is made, 
and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the Consideration named 
in the foregoing Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth.  Sworn
