Bill of Sale from Matthew BORLAND to Mary SHERER (1862)

Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber WHR, Number 5, Folio 339

I Matthew Borland of Cecil County, State of Maryland in Consideration of the sum 
of One Hundred and fifty dollars, paid me by Mary Sherer, Wife of David M Sherer 
of the said County and State, do hereby bargain and Sell to the said Mary Sherer 
the following property, One Bay Stud Horse, one Gray Mare, one Bay Horse 
Gelding, One Waggon[sic], One Dearborn, three Setts[sic] of Harness, one plow, 
one Harmony[?], one Spade, one Black Cow, one Red and White Cow, Two Shoats, one 
half of one Fan, Two Stoves, four Bed Steads, four Feather Beds and Bedding, Two 
Bureaus, two Cupboards, one Chest of drawers, Twelve Windsor Chairs, all now in 
the possession of the said Mary Sherer, Wife of David M Sherer.
Witness my hand and Seal this Third day of June in the year AD 1862.

I hereby Certify that on this Third day of June in the Year of Our Lord one 
Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty Two, before the subscriber a Justice of the 
Peace for the County and State aforesaid, personally appeared Matthew Borland 
and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his Act; And at the same time 
and place appeared Mary Sherer, Wife of David M Sherer, the party to Whom this 
Bill of Sale is made and Made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the 
Consideration named in the foregoing Bill of Sale is true and bonafide as 
therein set forth.
