Bill of Sale from George W SAMSEL to Matthew BORLAND (1862)

Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber WHR, Number 5, Folio 402

I George W Samsel of Cecil County and State of Maryland, in Consideration of the 
sum of One hundred dollars which I am indebted to Matthew Borland of the said 
County and State, do hereby bargain and Sell to the said Matthew Borland the 
following property – 1 Fluke Harrow, 1 Broom Machine, 1 Blind Bridle[?] and 
collar, 1 Two Year old heifer, 2 small shoats, 1 Clock, 2 Pair of Bedsteads, 1 
Bed, 1 Table, 1 Bureau, 1 Cook Stone and fixtures, 1 blind Bay Horse, 1 Shot 
Gun, 1 trunk, 1 Work Stand, bed clothes, 5 chairs, Book case, 1 Cutting Box.  
Witness my hand and seal this 18th day of August, 1862.

I hereby Certify that on this Eighteenth day of August AD 1862, before the 
Subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for Cecil County aforesaid and State of 
Maryland, personally appeared George W Samsel and did acknowledge the foregoing 
Bill of Sale to be his Act; And at the same time appeared Matthew Borland and 
made oath in due form of law that the Consideration mentioned in this Bill of 
Sale is Just, true and bona fide.
