Witnesseth, That in Consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred and fifty dollars, current money, now due from the said Matthew Borland and to Mary E Hollingsworth of the County and State aforesaid, the said Matthew Borland and Amanda A Borland, his Wife, do grant unto the said Mary E Hollingsworth in fee, All the hereinafter mentioned and described pieces, or parcels of land, that is to say: All that piece or parcel of Land lying and being in Cecil County aforesaid, Containing Eight and a quarter Acres of Land more or less, which was conveyed to the said Matthew Borland by James Mackey and Sarah Ann Mackey, his Wife, by Deed bearing date on the Eighth day of April in the Year Eighteen Hundred and forty seven and Recorded in Liber GMC No 13 folio 173, one of the Land Record Books of Cecil County aforesaid; Also all that other piece or parcel of land, lying and being in Cecil County aforesaid, Containing Two Acres and thirty seven Hundredths of land more or less, which was conveyed to the said Matthew Borland by John Cornish and Mary Ann Cornish, his Wife, by deed bearing date the Twenty Eighth day of February in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifty four and recorded in Liber HHM No 2 folio 609 another of the Land Record Books of Cecil County aforesaid, Also all that other piece or parcel of Land lying and being in Cecil County aforesaid, Containing ten Acres and two tenths of an acre of land, more or less, Which was conveyed to the said Matthew Borland by John Mackie and Catherine Mackie, his Wife, by Deed bearing date the fourteenth day of October in the Year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Two, and Recorded or to be Recorded among the land Record Books of Cecil County aforesaid [see WHR-4-453], to Which said several deeds reference is hereby made for more full, particular and accurate descriptions of the said pieces or parcels of Land: Provided that if the said Matthew Borland shall pay to the said Mary E Hollingsworth on or before the Eighth day of December in the year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty three, the said sum of Seven Hundred and fifty dollars, and the interest thereon from the day of the date hereof, then this Mortgage shall be void. And the said Matthew Borland, for himself, his heirs, Executors, Administrators and assigns, doth hereby covenant, grant, promise and agree to and With the said Mary E Hollingsworth, her Executors, Administrators or assigns, to pay or cause to be paid unto the said Mary E Hollingsworth, her Executors, Administrators or assigns, the aforesaid sum of Seven Hundred and fifty dollars, and the interest thereon at the time hereinbefore mentioned and specified and also to pay or cause to be paid, all Taxes, assessments, public dues or levies, levied or to be levied by law, upon this Mortgage or the debt thereby Secured. Matthew Borland Amanda Borland Test, Wm Torbert State of Maryland Cecil County, to Wit I hereby Certify that on this Eighth day of December in the year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Two, before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Cecil County, personally appeared Matthew Borland and Amanda A Borland his Wife, and did Each acknowledge the aforegoing Mortgage to be their respective Act, and at the same time and place also personally appeared Henry C McRae agent for Mary E Hollingsworth the Within named Mortgagee and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned and set forth in the said Mortgage is true and bonafide as therein set forth.
