Whereas the said Dennis Lynch is indebted to Matthew Borland, in the Sum of Seven Hundred and fifty dollars, payable With interest from the twenty fifth day of March, Instant, on or before the twenty ____ day of March in the Year Eighteen hundred and fifty Nine, Now this Mortgage Witnesseth, that in consideration of the premises and of the sum of One dollar, the said Dennis Lynch and Honora, his Wife, do grant unto the said Matthew Borland in fee, All tract, part of a tract, piece or parcel of Land, situate, lying and being in Cecil County, in the State of Maryland, and Containing thirty Acres, more or less, Which Was conveyed to the said Dennis Lynch by the said Matthew Borland and Amanda A Borland, his Wife, by deed bearing Even date with these presents, duly Executed, acknowledged and Recorded or to be Recorded among the Land Record Books of Cecil County aforesaid. Provided that if the said Dennis Lynch shall pay to the said Matthew Borland the sum of Seven Hundred and fifty dollars, With interest thereon from the 25th day of March, Instant, on or before the twenty-fifth day of March in the Year Eighteen Hundred and fifty Nine, and shall perform all the covenants herein on his part to be performed, then this Mortgage shall be void. And it is agreed, that until default of payment, the said Dennis Lynch shall possess the premises, the said Dennis Lynch paying in the meantime all Taxes on Said premises, which Taxes the said Dennis Lynch Covenants to pay when legally demandable. Dennis Lynch Honora Lynch (her mark) Test, The Words – “And on the Mortgage debt and interest hereby mentioned to be secured” being first Erased – Edmund Brown Sen’r State of Maryland Cecil County, to Wit I hereby Certify that on this Sixth day of March in the year one thousand Eight hundred and fifty Eight, before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland, in and for Cecil County, personally appeared Dennis Lynch and Honora Lynch, his Wife, and acknowledged the foregoing Mortgage to be their act. And now at the same time before me personally appeared also, Matthew Borland, the Within named Mortgagee, and made in due form of law that the consideration set forth in the foregoing Mortgage is true and bona fide, as therein set forth.
