Pierson, Amelia Kirk and Nathan Steel. Suit to procure a decree for a sale of certain mortgaged premises in Cecil Co. which were hertofore mortgaged by the defendent to the complainants. The Bill stated that on or about April 16 1854, the defendent Nathan Steel, being indebted to the complainant Allen Anderson in the sum of $600 conveyed to him certain real estate which is particulary described in the Bill and it's exhibit by way of mortgage to the secure payment of said debt on or before April 25, 1855. It is afterwards to wit, on or about April 27 the said Nathan Steel and his wife Margaretta conveyed the same real estate unto Ruhanna B. Pierson, the Complainant by way of mortgage to secure payment, the sum of $2,250 to be paid on or before 25 March 1864, and the interest thereon to be paid annually on March 25, in each and every year, and the further sum of $250 the interest whereof is to be paid the complainant Allen Anderson has been paid, although the time limited for the payment thereof, by the said mortgage has passed and that although the time limited for the payment of interest on the said debt owing to Ruhanna S. Pierson has long passed, no part of said interest has been paid Amelia Kirk: that the said Margaretta Pierson is dead and the said Nathan Steel has left the state of Maryland and resides in parts unknown. It is thereupon adjudged and ordered the complainants by causing a copy of this order to be inserted in some newspaper in Cecil Co. once a week for one month before 27 June next give notce to the said absent defendents of the object and substance of this Bill and warn him to appear in this court in person or by solicitor on or before 28 Sept next to answer the premises and show cause if any he has why a decree ought not to pass.
