The old man lived alone in a small house on the farm of William Biles. He earned a living by laboring and cultivating a small patch of ground. He was last seen on Wednesday evening in apparently good health but was found dead in bed the next morning. He was a native of the county, but some years ago went West where he is said to have a family. He returned and was living as above described. Coronor Litzenberg was notified and summoned a jury of inquest with George W Taylor as foreman Dr. D. L. Gifford of Zion made an examination and the jury returned a verdict of death from natural causes. Samuel is buried in the old stone graveyard in Lewisville, Pa Additional Comments: Chancery dated September 19, 1848, states that Samuel Steele died intestate leaving the following Samuel Steele, Joseph Steele, James Steele and Jane Steele Hall.
