[Elizabeth Ricards was born Elizabeth Arbuckle in Philadelphia, sister of Daniel Arbuckle (see 1891 Obituary for Daniel below)] OBITUARY (Cecil Democrat, 29-Jan-1881) Mrs Elizabeth Magargel, mother-in-law of Daniel Arbuckle, Esq, of Andora, died at his residence on Thursday. Her funeral will take place to-day. Services at Cherry Hill M E Church at 1pm. Deceased was 95 years of age. WEDDING/OBITUARY (Cecil Democrat, 30-Dec-1882, Vol 41, No 50) A Wedding - A Funeral On Thursday of last week a number of friends were assembled at the residence of Mr Daniel Arbuckle, near Cherry Hill, to witness a wedding and to offer hearty congratulations. The occasion was the marriage of his daughter, Miss Ella, a young and beautiful lady well and popularly known in this vicinity, to Mr John R Chapman, a gentleman formerly of Cherry Hill and a native of this county. On Friday evening a reception was held at the residence of the groom’s father, and joyful congratulations were the event of the evening. On Saturday morning the young bride was taken ill, and, notwithstanding every effort made for her relief, she grew rapidly worse and died the same night. She had been suffering from severe kidney affection for some months. Her funeral took place last Wednesday from the residence of her father, and her remains were interred in Cherry Hill cemetary. OBITUARY (Cecil Democrat, 8-Aug-1891) Daniel Arbuckle On Tuesday night Daniel Arbuckle, an elderly and prosperous farmer, died at his residence near Cherry Hill, in his 79th year. Mr Arbuckle came to Cecil County from Manayunk, PA about twenty-five years ago, and purchased the farm where he has since resided and where he died. He had amassed a competency in manufacturing cloth, and by judicious management of his farming interests added to it, at the same time making for himself an enviable reputation for integrity in all business affairs. He leaves a widow and four grown sons, Samuel and Daniel, who are farmers, Philip, who is engaged in the harness business at Cherry Hill, and Thurlow, who is a postal clerk. OBITUARY (Cecil Democrat, 18-Jun-1892, Vol 51, No 24) Mrs Kate Arbuckle, wife of Daniel Arbuckle, died at the residence of her husband at Cherry Hill on Saturday night last after a very short illness. She was a member of the Cherry Hill M E Church and was most estimable and highly respected lady. She had a large circle of friends. The funeral took place on Wednesday. OBITUARY (Cecil Whig, 18-Jun-1892, Vol LI, No 38) Death of Mrs Arbuckle Mrs Kate Arbuckle a very estimable lady the wife of Mr Daniel T Arbuckle of White Hall farm near Fair Hill, died at her home on Sunday night. Before her marriage Mrs Arbuckle was Miss Culp of Manyunk[sic], Pa, where she resided at the time of her marriage. Three children survive her, her infant child having died a few days previous to her death. Mrs Arbuckle was in her thirty sixth year and was through her kind and amiable disposition endeared to a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, holding her membership at Cherry Hill, where her funeral services were held, and in the cemetery of which church her remains were buried, the Rev Thos B Hunter conducting the services. Mr Arbuckle has the sympathy of that entire community in his unexpected and painful bereavement. OBITUARY (Cecil Democrat, 12-Aug-1905, Vol 66, No 27) Mrs Mary S Arbuckle Mrs Mary S Arbuckle, an aged and esteemed lady of the Fourth district, widow of the late Daniel Arbuckle, died at the home of her son, Daniel Arbuckle, near Andora, on Saturday last, from paralysis, with which she was stricken several weeks previous. Mrs Arbuckle was 89 years of age, and for many years had been a consistent and active member of the Cherry Hill M E Church. Four sons survive her -- Paul Arbuckle, of the railway mail service between New York and Washington; Philip R Arbuckle, of Cherry Hill; Daniel T, and Samuel Arbuckle, of Andora. Her funeral was Tuesday afternoon from the residence of her son, Daniel T Arbuckle, with services at Cherry Hill M E Church. Interment in the adjoining cemetary. OBITUARY (Cecil County News, 16-Jul-1919, Vol 38, No 40) Paul Thurlow Arbuckle Paul Thurlow Arbuckle, died suddenly Saturday night at his home near Cherry Hill, aged sixty-four years. He was in his usual health, which had not been of the best since an accident suffered about a year ago, when he fell and fractured two of his ribs. That evening, while sitting on his porch, he was taken with a hemorrhage, and died shortly thereafter. Mr Arbuckle was a son of the late Daniel Arbuckle, and was born in Philadelphia. While a boy his father moved to Cecil county, and he has since resided here. For forty years he was a railway mail clerk, his run being between New York and Washington, on the Pennsylvania Railroad, from which he retired only about a year ago. Upright and genial, he was popular with everyone who knew him. Fraternally he was a member fo the Elkton Masonic Lodge. Mr Arbuckle is survived by his wife, who was Miss Mollie Borland, and one son, Paul T, Jr. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel T, of Cherry Hill, and Philip R Arbuckle, of Wilmington, Del. Thr funeral was held this afternoon, with services at his late residence and interment at Cherry Hill Cemetary. OBITUARY-Necrology (Cecil County News, 3-Mar-1926, Vol 45, No 20) Mrs Philip R Arbuckle Mrs Annie Miller Arbuckle, wife of Philip R Arbuckle, formerly of Cherry Hill, died Friday at her home in Wilmington. She is survived by her husband, two sons and three daughters. The funeral was held Tuesday, with services at Cherry Hill M E Church and interment in the adjoining cemetary. OBITUARY (Cecil Whig, 15-Jan-1927, Vol 85, No 31, p 8) DANIEL T ARBUCKLE Daniel T Arbuckle, an esteemed retired farmer, aged 74 years, who had been ill with stomach trouble, died of an acute attack, at his home at Cherry Hill, on Tuesday night. His father, the late Daniel Arbuckle removed to this county from Philadelphia, locating in the Fourth District. After his death, Mr Arbuckle followed farming, until his retirement some years ago. His second wife, three sons, Samuel, of Philadelphia; Raymond, of Perry Point; Stanley, of Philadelphia; two daughters, Mrs Ella Reiger, of Philadelphia; Miss Emily Arbuckle, of Cherry Hill, and a brother, Phillip R, of Wilmington, survive him. His funeral will be held today, Saturday, with services and interment private. OBITUARY-Necrology (Cecil Democrat, 21-Jan-1933, Vol 92, No 45) Philip R Arbuckle Philip R Arbuckle, aged 76 years, a native of this county, and for many years a resident of Cherry hill, where he conducted a harness shop, died at his home in Wilmington, DE, last Monday. The deceased was a son of the late Daniel and Mary M Arbuckle, of Cherry Hill, and was the last surviving child. He was a man of sterling character and a consistent member of the Cherry Hill M E Church. He was also a member of Cherry Hill Council, No 19, O U A M, and Little Elk Tribe, No 50, Improved Order of Red Men. His wife, now deceased, was Miss Annie Miller, daughter of the late John Miller. Five children survive, Philip Merton Arbuckle, Daniel Miller Arbuckle, Mrs John A Knight, Mrs Paul L Brogan, and Miss Ethel Arbuckle. Funeral services was held at the M E Church at Cherry Hill, yesterday, Friday afternoon at 2.30 o’clock. Interment in the adjoining cemetary. OBITUARY (Cecil Democrat, 27-Nov-1958, p 5) Mrs Mary C Arbuckle Mrs Mary Carter Arbuckle of Elkton, died in Devine Haven Nursing home Nov 22. She was the wife of the late Daniel T Arbuckle and lived in Cherry Hill for many years before moving to Elkton. Mrs Arbuckle was born in Andora, the daughter of the late William H and Martha E Spratt. She was the oldest member of Cherry Hill Methodist church. She is survived by two daugthers and two sons: Mrs Charles Rieger of Glenside, PA, W Raymond Arbuckle of Perryville, Stanley M Arbuckle of Philadelphia and Miss M Emily Arbuckle at home; one brother, Charles D Spratt of Andora. The Rev Robert W Helms of Cherry Hill church officiated at funeral services Nov 26 at 1 o’clock from Hicks funeral home, Elkton. Interment was in Cherry Hill cemetary.
