On the 16th instant, Rensellaer Biddle, in his 75th year. Funeral from his late residence, near Cowantown, on Monday morning 19th instant, at 10 o’clock. Services as the house. Interment at Cherry Hill Cemetary. DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN (Cecil Whig, Vol XXXVII, No 19, 24-Nov-1877, p 3) Rensellaer Biddle, an old and respected citizen of the Fourth district of this county, died on the 16th instant, from the effect of a shock of paralysis. He had been in rather feeble health for some time, and was attacked by the disease, which terminated his life on the above date. The early years of his life were spent in the vicinity of Elkton, and he was one of the few old men recently living who assisted in the construction of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Always industrious and honest, his efforts in the early years of his life did not meet with the success that they deserved; but he, by persevering industry and strict integrity, succeeded in securing a competency in the latter years of his life. He was a member of the M E Church, at Cherry Hill, where his remains were interred, on Monday last. OBITUARY (Cecil County News, 14-Mar-1900, Vol XX, No 28, p 3) Jacob T Biddle died on Wednesday last at his mone near Cowentown, aged sixty- seven years. He was a son of the late Ransler Biddle, and was a prominent farmer of the Fourth District. He was never married. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon with interment at Cherry Hill M E Cemetary. OBITUARY (Cecil Democrat, 7-Apr-1900) Mrs Mary Devlin, widow of the late David T Devlin, died on Saturday afternoon, at her residence near Cherry Hill, aged 60 years. Mrs Devlin had been in bad health for some time. Before her marriage she was Miss Biddle, and was a sister of the late Jacob T Biddle. She was twice married, her first husband being Theodore Boreland. One daughter, Mrs Paul Arbuckle, survives her. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon; interment in Cherry Hill Cemetary.
