All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ********************************************************* Will of Moses Faries, Cecil County, Maryland, dated 4 Nov. 1757, proved 21 Nov. 1757 Prerogative Court, Liber 30, Folios 399-400, Maryland State Archives No. S538-44 Moses FARIES - WILLS 1757 Cecil Liber 30, folios 399-400 Prerogative Court (Wills) Accession No.: 1308-1 MSA No.: S538-44 Location: 1/11/1/38 2 pp. 399 In the Name of God Amen November the fourth in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty Seven I Moses Faries of Cecil County in Maryland, Farmer being sick in Body but of perfect mind and Memory Calling to mind the Mortality of my Body do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament Principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul to God & my Body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian Like and decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors & as touching such Worldly Goods & Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give devise & dispose of the Same in the following manner & form Imprimis It is my Will & I do order that in the first place all my Just Debts and Funeral Charges be paid and Satisfied Item I give and bequeath to my Son Robert Faries one English Shilling Item I give & bequeath to my Daughter Margaret Abram one English Shilling Item I give to my Daughter Jane one English Shilling Item I give and bequeath all the Remainder of my Estate both Real and personal to be equally divided among the Rest of my Children to wit: Agnes Moses Arthur Mary John Matthew Hannah & James provided still that if my Daughter Agnes should marry James Duggan that then her Share of shall be forfeited & shall be Divided among the other Seven Children last named & shall have one English Shilling as her Share I allow my Bed to my Daughter Hannah over & above her share I order & appoint my Land to be Sold in order that such Division may be made & that a Deed of Conveyance made & perfected by my Executors shall be as authorized & Legal as if I had done it in my own person I nominate & appoint Joseph Wallace & Robert Arthur Executors of this my Last Will & Testament and I do hereby revoke 400 and disannul all and every other former Will & Testament Ratifying and Con- firming this and no other to be my Will & Testament In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Day and year first above written Moses Faries (his M mark) (Seal) Signed Sealed published & declared by the said Moses Faries as his Last Will & Testament in presence of us Abram Holms, John Holms, Moses Andrews } on the Back of the foregoing Will was thus written Viz't.
