I Benjamin Mauldin of Cecil Co. State of Maryland, being very sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God, to call me hence. Do therefore make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, in manner and form following. First and Principally I commit my soul unto the Hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named and after my debts and funeral charges are paid and my wifes third taken, I desire to bequeath as follows. It is my will and desire that my plantation shall be divided betyween my two sons, Thomas and James, beginning for a division line between them on the Bay Shore at High Water Mark opposite to the ditch cut through my meadow then with the ditch as far as it extend then up the valley until it intersects a gully at the side of the field then with a straight line from said gully across the field until //Remainder of Will Missing// According to published information, James Mauldin - San Francisco, CA has a family Bible that lists ten children to this Benjamin.
