All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Webb wmarilyn45@yahoo.com January 30, 2010, 7:35 pm Source: Will Written: April 23, 1873 In the name of God Amen---I John Steel of the County of Cecil and State of Maryland being weak of body but of sound mind and understanding and considering the act of death and the uncertainity of the time thereof--and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me home---do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say: First I commit my soul to God and my body to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my executrix. And after my debts and funeral expences are duely paid and satisfied, I devise and bequeath as follows: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Ann Steele all my estate both real and personal during her natural life, so long as she remains a widow and my youngest daughter Sarah R. Steele being deformed and likely to remain a cripple during her life must be fed, clothed and furnished with all the necessities by my said wife Sarah Ann Steele out of the said property-- Should she however marry a second husband--I then give and bequeath to my before mentioned deformed daughter Sarah R. Steel all my property both real and personal above mentioned for her use and maintenance--If however in case of the death of my daughter Sarah R. Steele before said property shall legally come into her hands then at the death or expiration of the widowhood of my beloved wife, Sarah Ann Steele, the said property to go to my son James and daughter Jane Steele. Share and share alike. And lastly I herein constitute and appoint my wife to be the executrix of this my last will and testatment hereby revoking all former wills which may have by me been made and ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament.
