I, Benjamin Thomas, being in a weak state of body but of sound mind, memory, understanding, and calling to mind the frailty and mortality of human life, do ordain, make, constitute, and appoint this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say – First after the payment of my just debts, and funeral expenses, I give and bequeath unto my three oldest sons, that is to say, Isaac Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Aquilla Thomas, the sum of five shillings sterling each. Secondly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rachel Henderson the sum of fifteen pounds in gold or silver money to be paid in one year after my decease. Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Priscilla Hukill the sum of twenty pounds in gold or silver money to be paid in one year after my decease. Fourthly I give and bequeath unto my son John Jarman Thomas the sum of five pounds in gold or silver money to be paid in one year after my decease. Fifthly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margot Thomas the sum of thirty pounds in gold or silver money to be paid in one year after my decease. Sixthly I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Priscilla Foreman the sum of fifteen pounds in gold or silver money to be paid when she shall be eighteen years of age or on the day of her marriage if that should happen sooner. Seventhly I give and bequeath unto all my other grandchildren that may survive me the sum of five shillings sterling to each of them to be paid in like manner. Eighthly I give and bequeath unto my two sons Evan James Thomas and Benjamin Thomas the remainder or residue of my estate to be divided in the manner following, that is to say, unto Evan James Thomas I give and bequeath the one third part, and unto Benjamin Thomas the remaining two thirds of my estate, and herby nominate and appoint my sons Evan James Thomas and Benjamin Thomas to be executors of this, my last Will and Testament, revoking and disallowing all former Wills and Testaments whatsoever done unto my hand and soul this nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord 1786.
