Franklin Parnham Turner, son of Thomas and Martha Turner, born May 15, 1827 is my 3rd great grandfather. He became a lawyer for the Saint Mary's County Court on April 6, 1848. He soon left there and moved to Washington County, Md. After he met and married a Francis Amelia Miller on Dec. 4, 1855, he then moved to Ripley Town, West Virginia, had two children there and the moved to Lynchberg Virginia. He then moved to Richmond Virginia and had a son Thomas Phillips Turner in 1860. This picture has been handed down from generation to generation and finally to me. My mother, Rosa Pauline Turner, was the daughter of Walter Miller Turner, son of Thomas Turner. My mother died in 1996 and it was passed on to me, her son. It was taken from Charles County when Franklin left there sometime in the 1850 time period. This picture is of the deguerrotype process and is silver plated and in very goo condition. The outside edges are flaking but the picture itself is wonderful. More so in person. I am also 99% certain that the gentleman in the top hat is Thomas Turner and the lady just to the right of the doorway Martha (Parnham). The girl in the center is Susan E. and the boy is Franklin Parnham Turner. He would have been 9 years old and Thomas 67 years old. Thomas died in 1836. The other members of the family are not known. Thomas Turner was married twice and his first wife was Susanna Carpenter who died just after childbirth of John Randolph, her second child. It (the picture) could only have come from Franklin and handed down. I am also saying that Martha's last name is Parnham because of Franklin's middle name. I have not proved it. Susan E. also married a Latimer and a Brawner. I thought the Turners of Charles County would enjoy seeing it. Thank You Herman Stephan
