To all people to Whom this present writing Shall Come that I Ann Fernly of Charles County Send greeting Know ye that I the Said Ann Fernly Widow Woman as well for and in Consideration of the Naturall affection, and Motherly Love which I have and do beare unto my Dutifull Son and Daughter Thomas Fectrer My Son and Mary Crown my Daughter both of Charles County as also for divers other good causes and Considerations me at this present Especially moving having giving and granted and at my death when it doth please Almighty God to Call me do give grant and Confirme unto the said Thomas Fectrer and Mary Crown my Son and Daughter all and Singular my goods and Chattels Debts reddy money Houshould Stuff apparell utensiles Brass pans then nedding and all other my Substance whatsoever Moveable and imoveable quiet and dead of what kind nature quality or Condition soever the same are or be and in what place or places soever the same be, shall or any be found as well in mine own Custodie or possession as in the possession, hand, power and Custody of any other person or persons Whatsoever to have and to hold all and Singular the Said goods Chattles debts and all other the aforesaid premises unto the said Thomas and Mary their Executors Administrators and Assigns to his and her a there own proper use and behoofe, forever freely and quietly without any manner of Challenge Clame or demand of any other person or persons whatsoever forme in my Name by any Cause, meanes or procurement and without any money or other things therefore to be yeilded, paid ordere warrant and I the said Ann Fernly doth give at my death when it doth please the Allmighty God to take me out of this world all and Singular the aforesaid goods Chattles and all other my Substance to the said Thomas Fectrer and Mary Crown their Exrs Admrs. and Assigns & the ave aforesaid against all people do Warrant and forever defend by these presents and further Know ye that I the said Ann Fernly have put the said Thomas and Mary in peaceable and quiet possession of all and Singular the afsaid premises at my death when it doth please God to Call me by the Delivering unto them at the Ensealing hereof one Coyne a piece of Silver commonly called two pence fixed on the Seal of these presents. Delivered In Witness I Sett my hand Witness in the presents of this 31st Day of March Thomas Poynter In the year 1743 her her Ann X Fernly Ann A Poynter mark mark Memorandum that the Said Cattle of mine Ann Fernly there mark is a Crop and 2 Slitts in Each Ear and as bin 33 years to the Date hereof. [That last memorandum looks significant. I read it that her cattle mark was issued 33 years ago. Check the court records for 1710.]
