Of Charles County and State of Maryland have this day Bargained for And sold and delivered unto James Lyon of the said County and State aforesaid one Negro Girl called Minty Aged about ten years of age for and in the consideration of the sum of thirty pounds Current Money of the State of Maryland the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge and myself fully contented And paid And do hereby warrant and forever defend the said Negro Minty and futer Increase from all persons whatsoever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day March 30th day in the years of our Lord eighteen hundred and one - Witnesses- Zachariah Canter, John Moran Sr. -- John Moran Sr. {seal}
