If anyone else has seen this document and can better make out the words, please send me what you read. My e-mail address is Ken@SideTrack.org and my address is 925 Ivanhoe Drive, Northfield, MN 55057. Ken Wedding (21 December, 2002) Here's what I can make out. I have inserted a dash (-) for each letter I cannot be sure of. My guesses as to letters are contained in brackets and followed by question marks. Otherwise, words are spelled and capitalized exactly as in the original. quote: Maryland-- 8-- -- 13-1731 I do hereby Certify that by order and Direction of [Col]? John --[ondale]? (The directions are approximate since there is no directional indicator on the map.) The trees mentioned in the description are drawn on the map. There are three names written along the first line described above. Near the beginning (within the Zachia Manor) is an illegible name; about a third of way along the line is the name of Josiah [Ferndale-], near the property corner is written "--- [Cout--s] Plantation. Along the second described line (north north east), the names of John Robey and Wm Robey are written just below the half way point. Along the third line (east south east) there are three names written. About a third of the way toward the Zachia Fresh is the name of Ed. [Jenkins-]; about half way toward the Fresh is the name of Jo: [Baggoty-]; about two-thirds of the way toward the Fresh is the name of Tho: [Speaks-]. The map also shows "Jordan Main branch" beginning near the "northwest" corner" inside the Zachia Manor, crossing the property line and returning into the Manor flowing south-southeast into the Zachia Fresh.
