WILL OF BASIL HAGAN In the name of God Amen I Basil Hagan of Charles County in the province of Maryland being infirm of body but in sound and perfect memory do make this my Last Will and Testament as follows.... INPRIMIS I bequeath my soul to God who gave it me my body to the earth after my departure to be decently buried at the charge of my estate and discretion of my Executrix hereafter named... ITEM I will that my just debts and funeral charges be first paid.... ITEM I nominate constitute and ordain my loving wife Susanna Hagan whole and sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament.... ITEM I give and bequeath unto my brother Ignatius Hagan ten acres and a half of land out of a tract of land called or known by the name of Clear with his dwelling house and other out houses where he now dwelleth if the said house should stand upon my land could or known by the name of Clear and if said houses should not stand upon the said land then I desire the said ten acres and a half of land above mentioned to be laid of anext to his said houses and land where he now dwelleth which the above mentioned land I give to him and his heirs forever.... ITEM I give and bequeath unto my two loving sons Raphael Hagan and John Barten Hagan all the remaining part of the land I now hold and possess except the ten acres and a half of land I give my brother Ignatius Hagan and his heirs out of the said tract of land couled or known by the name of Chippinghame or Clear and the name of the said land are as followeth: a part of a tract of land couled or known by the name of Chippinghame or Clear and a tract could or known by the name of Addition to Clear and a parcel of land I bought of William Boarman being part of Boarman's Manner which I give and bequeath all the before mentioned tracts and parcels of land to be equally divided between my two sons Raphael Hagan and John Barton Hagan to them and their heirs forever.. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my loving brothers as followeth: Joseph, Benjamin, William, and Henry one thousand pounds of cross tobacco to be equally divided amongst them and to be paid to them out of my estate within eighteen months after my decease.... ITEM I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Theresa Hagan one negro woman could Agnes and her increase to her and her heirs forever.... ITEM I give and bequeath all the remaining part of my personal estate after my just debts is paid to my loving wifes dowery is taken out to my three children Raphael Theresa and John Barten Hagan to them and their heirs forever.... I ordain that this present will to be my Last Will and Testament.. In witness whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth day of December in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and sixty four...
