Charles County Register of Wills (Wills) AF #7, p. 387-388 Sarah Crown, 1777- 1778 (MSA C681, MdHR 7288-1, 1-8-10-8) page Charles County, MD Adminstration Accounts, [date?] Joseph Crowns Counter Bond for his Estate August the 10th 1779 Maryland Ss Know all men by these presents that we Sarah Crown of Charles County widow Thomas Shiercliff and Dennis Nalley of said County Planters are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and Just Sum of five hundred pounds Current Money to be paid to the said State to the true payment whereof we bind our Selves and Every of us our and Every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators in the whole & for the whole Jointly and Severally firmly by these presents Seald with our Seals and dated this tenth day of August Anno Domini 1779 Whereas it appeard to the orphan Court Sud[?]ally Sitting that the Securities in the Bond Executed and passd by Sarah Crown on the Administration on the Estate of Joseph Crown deceasd are not good and Sufficient Securities for that purpose and therefore the Justices of the Court aforesaid ordered that the said Sarah Crown the Administratrix on said Estate should give Such Security for the said Estate as should be approved of by the Justices aforesaid. Now the Condion of the above Obligation is Such that of the above bound Sarah Crown do and Shall well and truely pay and deliver all Such Goods and Chattles and Sums of Money and Tobacco which have & shall become due from her as Admin =istratrix of the Estate aforesaid to all and Every person or persons to whom the Same is or may hereafter become due and payable and which hath or shall hereafter come to the hands and possession of the said Sarah Crown as administratrix aforesaid when thereunto Legally Requested and shall pursue the directions of the Acts[?] of assembly relateing to Testamentary affairs granting Administrations recovery of Legacies Secureing Filial portions and distribution of Intestates Estates then the above Obligation to be Void other= wise to remain in full force and virtue in Law.
