Will of John Glaze, Sr. Charles County, Maryland CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND - Will of John Glaze, Sr. Dated December 26, 1732 and probated February 7, 1738 In the Name of God, Amen. I, John Glaze, of Charles County, in the province of Maryland, being infirm of body but in sound and perfect memory do make this my last will and testament as follows: I bequeath my soul to God who gave it, my body to the earth, after my departure to be decently buried at the charge of my estate and discretion of my Executrix hereafter named. Item: I will that my just debts and funeral charge be first paid. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving son John Glaze one shilling sterling money. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving son Thomas Glaze one shilling sterling money. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving son Joseph Glaze one shilling sterling money. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving Benjamin Glaze one shilling sterling money. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving son Samuel Glaze one shilling sterling money. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Mary Glaze one cow and calf. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Margaret Glaze, one cow and calf. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Elizabeth Glaze one cow and calf. Item: I nominate, constitute, and ordain my loving wife Sarah Glaze whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament to whom the aforesaid Sarah my wife I give and bequeath all the remaining part of my personal Estate to her and her heirs forever. I ordain that this present will to be my last will and testament. I witness whereof, I have set my hand and fixed my seal this the 26th day of December 1732. On the back of the foregoing will was endorsed the following footnote: Court Charles County: For the 7th day of February 1738, Osborn and Jon Gates subscribing witnesses to the within will being duly and solemnly sworn on the Evangelists of Almighty God and say that they saw John Glaze the testator sign the within will and_______publish and dictated the______to be his last will testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind and memory subscribed their names as witnesses to the said will in the presence of the Testator and at his request.
