The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Isaac Bowie ~ Will In the name of God Amen Isaac Bowie of Charles County and State of Maryland being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory considering the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death (blessed be the Almighty God for the same) do make and publish this last will and testament in manner and form following to wit: First I give and bequeath to my dear beloved wife Elizabeth Bowie all my property both real and personal during her life and one Negro boy named Lewis to dispose of as she may think proper. Item- And after her death I give and bequeath unto my four daughters Sophia Murdock, Louisa Bowie, Pammy Aleavia Bowie, and Margaret Bowie all my land and premises, three feather beds, two horses, three milk cows, and one Negro girl named Eliza. At the death or marriage of my three single daughters, Louisa Bowie, Pammy Aleavia Bowie, and Margaret E. Bowie my will and desire is that all the land that I may die (unreadable) shall be sold and the profits therefrom arising to be equally divided between my nine children, Rachel Bowie, Maria Bowie, Sophia Murdock, Louisa Bowie, Ethelbert (Thelbert) Bowie, Aquilla Bowie, Plinny Bowie, Pammy Aleavia Bowie, and Margaret Elanor Bowie. All my property not yet mentioned or willed I desire att the death of my beloved wife Elizabeth Bowie to be sold and the profits therefrom arising to be equally divided between Rachael Bowie, Maria Bowie, Ethelbert (Thelbert) Bowie, Aquilla Bowie and Plinny Bowie to them and their heirs forever. Hereby revoking all former wills by me made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the sixteenth day of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two. Signed, Sealed , Published and declared by the above named Isaac Bowie to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator. Lawson one of the witnesses to the afore going will and made oath on the Holy Evangel of Almighty God that he did see the Testator therein named sign and seal this will and that he heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of his apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that together with Meclaire?
