WILL OF JOHN THOMPSON In the name of God Amen, I John Thompson of Charles County in the province of Maryland being in perfsct health of body and sound mind and memory for which I praise God do make my Last Will and Testament as follows.... I commend my soul into the hands of God Almighty trusting that through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ his dear son and my only savior that he will recieve me into his heavenly kingdom and my body to the earth to be decently intered at the discretion of my executors hereafter named and with what worldly goods it has pleased God to endow me I leave as followeth VIZ: INPRIMIS I give and bequeath to my son Thomas and son William all that tract of land at Pitscataway on which they now live to be equally divided betwixt them to them and their heirs forever... ITEM I give to my son John one hundred acres of the plantation I now dwell on about the house he now lives in and to his heirs forever and to my said son John I bequeath my negro woman and the remainder of my dweeling plantation with my dwelling house I give and bequeath to my daughter Winifred during her natural life and after her decease I bequeath the said land to my grandson Joseph son of my son William to him and his heirs forever and to my Daughter Winifred I bequeath one negroe which she pleases to choose and one feather bed and furniture and to my daughters Ann, Magdalen, and Susanna I bequeath the other negro and one feather bed and furniture to each of the said three girls and if the negro my daughter Winifred shall choose outlives my said daughter then my will is that the said negro be equally divided betwixt my other three daughters Ann. Magdalen, and Susanna and the rest of the remainder of my estate my will is that it be equally divided amongst all my children and I do hereby nominate make and appoint my dear sons Thomas and William to be joint executors of this my Last Will and Testament who I do hereby will and desire that they will take good care of their sister Winifred and that my son William will live on the plantation with her.
