Written December 29th 1788 in Charles County Maryland In the name of God Amen I John Moran of Charles County being in a weak and low condition but of sound mind and reason do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit - First of all, it is my will and desire that all my just debts be paid . Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my son John Moran all my right title and claim to a lease of land lying and being in Charles County and part of Calverton Manor granted to Mary Stone and described in the plot of said manor by lot Kimber Ton. Also, the Plantation whereon I now dwell adjoining to the above Land called Dearbought containing one hundred and eight acres, together with the water mill and all the implements thereto belonging to him and his heirs forever. Lastly, it is my will and desire that the residue of my Estate be equally divided amongst my four sons Gabriel Moran, John Moran, Meverel Moran and William Moran to them and their heirs forever Invoking and disannulling all other Will or Wills heretofore made. At the same time, I do hereby constitute and appoint my two sons John Moran and Meverel Hulse Moran my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament whereof I have unto set my hand and seal this twenty- ninth day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight. Witness, John Morton John Moran {seal} Jonathan Anderson - Jesse Davis - At the foot and on the back of the foregoing Will it is this written to wit, Charles County Sct. 24th December 1791, Then came John Moran and Meverel H. Moran Executors of John Moran Sen. late of Charles County deceased and severally made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that the above instrument of writing is the true and whole Last Will and Testament of the said deceased that hath come to their hands or possession and that they do not know of any other. Certified by, John Muschett Reg. Of Wills Charles County Sct. 24th December 1791, Then came Jonathan Anderson and Jesse Davis two of the subscribing witnesses to the above Last Will and Testament of John Moran Sen. late of Charles County deceased and severally made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator therein named sign and seal this Will and that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they together with John Morton the other subscribing witness respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this Will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and in the presence of each other.
