Daughter, Elizabeth Simpson, Daughter, Mary Simpson, Daughter, Alanor Simpson, Daughter, Ann Simpson, £32. All my children, the residue for equal division. Extrix: My daughter, Elizabeth Simpson. Witnesses: Thomas H. Luckett, George Jenkins. Will dated March 31, 1761. Proved May 14, 1766, Charles County, Md. NOTES: This testator was Thos. Simpson, son of Eliz. Green and Andrew Simpson. died 1744, Charles County, son of Thos. Simpson. The Mary Semmes who signed this inventory was probably his sister Mary, who became the last wife of James Semmes, died 1787, son of James of Marmaduke Semmes. This testator doubtless was married to Sarah, the granddaughter of Thoms Jenkins, Charles County, who in his will, 1726-7, names his granddaughter. Sarah Simpson. In the account of estate of said Thos. Jenkins in May, 1729, it is stated the legacy left to Sarah Sympson was paid to Thos. Sympson. At this time ( March, 1915) I am unable to determine who were the parents of this Sarah Simpson. She was not daughter of Elizabeth (Jenkins) (Jones) Edelen, nor of Geo. Jenkins, nor of William Jenkins. She may have been daughter of Edw. Jenkins, or of Ann (Jenkins) Spalding, but more likely daughter of Mary (Jenkins) Norris.-R. T. Semmes.
