I, William Thomson of Charles County, being sick but of perfect sense and memory, thanks be to God for the same, I do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. Viz, First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God that gave it to me, and my body to be interred according to my executors discretion; hereinafter mentioned. Item, I give and bequeath to my son, James Thomson, my dwelling plantation with all my land adjoining to the said place, and if he should die without issue I give then the said plantation to my son, Leonard Thomson and his heirs forever. Item, I give unto my son, Joseph Thomson, five pounds currency and my clothes upon me now. Item, I give unto my son, Ignatious Thomson, five shilling and one of my feather beds of the best value. Item, I give unto my granddaughter, Elendor Thomson, my feather bed of the next lowest value. Item, I give unto my daughter, Elizabeth Thomson, one young horse colt. Item, I give and bequeath all my personal estate after my just debts are paid, to be equally divided between my son, Leonard Thomson and James Thomson and my daughter Elizabeth Apelonia Mary and Susanna Thomson, and I do deign and appoint my son, Leonard Thomson and my daughter, Elizabeth Thomson, my sole executor and executrix of this my last will and testament in witness thereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal this 29 day of April 1767. This William Thom(p)son was a son of John Thompson of Charles County, died testate in 1739, and the father of James Thompson died intestate in 1795.
