Maryland State Archives; Microfilm Reel CR 80-3 Charles County Wills; 1898-1915 Liber CHP, Number 19, Folio 195 October Term 1903 Benjamin Posey Will In the name of God Amen I Benjamin Posey of Charles County and State of Maryland being in good health of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me home do therefor make and publish this my last will and testament in words following to wit: First and principally I commit my soul into the hands Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried and after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid I devise and bequeath as follows to wit: I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Jane Posey all of my property both real and personal by whatever name or names the same may be known and at the death of my wife, if any part of it should be left to go to my niece, Flora Bowie and my nephews Willie and Allaurd(?) Bowie share and share alike. Revoking and annulling all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 11th day of May in the year of our Lord 1903. On the 17th day of November 1903 came Thomas Norman and made oath in due form of law, that he do not know of any will or codicil of Benjamin Posey, late of said County, deceased other than the above instrument of writing and that he received the same from on the 17th day of November 1903. Test. Cataldus H. Posey Registor of Wills for Charles Co. Charles County, S. S. On the 17th day of November 1903 came Thomas Norman and Frances E. Perry subscribing witnesses of the aforegoing last will and testament of Benjamin Posey, late of said County, deceased, and made oath in due form of law that they did see the Testator sign and seal this will. That they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament: that at the time of his so doing he was, to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding: and that they together with R.
