Posey, of Charles County in the state of Maryland, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this, my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say: First; and principally, I commit my soul to Almighty God, and my body to the Earth, and after all my just debts including my funeral expenses are paid, I devise and bequeath my property, real, personal and mixed, as follows: Item 1: I give and devise to my daughter Hannah Johnson, of Charles County, Maryland and my son Alvin Posey, formerly of said County, to be equally divided between them, share and share alike, all that portion of the farm upon which I now reside, which lies to the East side of the public road leading from Durham Church to Grayton, in said Charles County, containing about one hundred acres of land, more or less. Item 2: I give and devise to my daughter Laura Bradley(Brodley?) of Washington City, in the District of Columbia, and to my granddaughter Mary M. Riley, of said City, to be divided equally between them, share and share alike, all that portion of said farm upon which I now reside, which lies to the West side of the Public road leading from Durham Church to Grayton, in said Charles County, containing about one hundred acres of land, more or less, and more particularly described as being that portion of said farm upon which the new dwelling house thereon, in which I now reside is rested(?). Item 3: I give, devise and bequeath to my son John F. Posey, of Washington City in the District of Columbia, the tract of wood land I now own and possess, detatched from my home farm above devised, lying and being on the Public road leading from Mount Hope Church to the Nanjemoy Baptist Church, containing about thirty three acres of land more or less. I further release hereby, my son John F. Posey, from the judgement of a note which I hold against him, in the sum of sixty Dollars and interest, and for the purpose of releasing said note I direct and empower my executor hereinafter named to surrender the same to my said son, upon my decease, without receiving payment therefor. Item 4: I give and devise to my son Massie Posey, formally of Charles County aforesaid, a tract of land lying and being on the North side of the Public road leading from Wm Luttrell's land to the Nanjemoy Baptist Church containing about thirty five acres of land, more or less. Item 5: All the rest and residue of my property, real, personal and mixed where ever located I give devise and bequeath to my daughters, Hannah Johnson and Laura Bradley(Brodley?); my grand daughter, Mary M. Riley and my sons Alvin Posey, John F. Posey and Massie Posey, share and share alike. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Samuel H. Speake, of Charles County aforesaid to be executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills and codicils by me heretofore made; and ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament as aforesaid. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this twenty sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three. Henry H. Speake M.D. and made oath in due form of law, that he does not know of any will or codicil of Henry H. Posey late of said County, deceased, other than the above instrument of Writing, and that he received the same from Henry H. Posey on the 26th day of April 1903. Sworn to Test: F. Brooke Matthews Register of Wills for Charles County Charles County S. S. On the 21st day of December 1903 came Thos. I. Wright and Alexander Murphy, two of the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and Testament of Henry H. Posey, late of said County, deceased, and made oath in due form of law, that they did see the Testator sign and seal this Will; and they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament; that at the same time of his so doing he was, to the best of their apprehension, of sound and disposing mind, memory, understanding and that they together with William N.
