JOHN KEENE was born 1657 in Calvert and died January 12, 1722/23 in Dorchester, 
Maryland.  He married MARY HOPEWELL Bet. 1685 - 1686 in Dorchester,  Maryland, 
daughter of HUGH HOPEWELL and ANN.  She was born 1657, and died Bef. 1722.


Captain John Keene as he was called.  John served in the Colonial Militia and 
gained the rank of Captain in 1714.  John also served as Justice of the Courts 
in Dorchester Co., MD 1704-1722.


John's will was probated November 14, 1723 in Dorchester Co., MD.  The lands he 
owned were "Keene's Neck"  250 acres, "Clarks Outhold" 100 acres and "Keene's 
Neglect" 92 acres.


John is also listed in the First Families of America, Volume IV, lineage records 
233.  He is listed as Capt colonial militia 13 yrs, married Mary Hopewell and 
was Justice of Dorchester Co., MD.

HENRY was born 1740 in Taylor's Island, Dorchester, MD, and died March 01, 1832 
in Dorchester, Maryland.  He married CHRISTIANA KEENE Bef. 1765 in Dorchester, 
Maryland, daughter of BENJAMIN KEENE.  She was born September 25, 1745 in 
Dorchester, Maryland, and died September 09, 1824 in Dorchester, Maryland.


Henry and Christina are buried at Grace P.E Church, Taylor Island

There is a SAR marker at the grave site of Henry Keene
