All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Lance Gladstone leg88keys@aol.com August 11, 2012, 4:35 pm Source: Liber 12, Folio 220, 221 (sr4406-1,2) Written: April 30, 1709 Recorded: November 8, 1709 In the name of God Amen I John Gladstone of Dorchester County, being of sound mind and memory, but very weak of body praise be therefore to Almighty God do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and principally - I commend into the hands of Almighty God hopeing - through the merritts Death and passion of my savior Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life - and my body I comit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereafter named and as touching the disposition of my temporall estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me - I give and dispose thereof as followeth - first I will that my debts and funeral charges shall be paid and discharged - Item I give unto my son William a breeding cow named Sis and a large iron gray horse branded with anchor fluke and three sows and pigs and a fether bed. Item I give to my son John a breeding cow named Pudding and a sorrell horse with a blaze in his face branded with a frog of a mill and a fether bed and pot. Item I give to my daughter Margret two breeding cows Pretty and Brownys heffer and a pot and fether bed. Item I give to my daughter Jane two breeding cows named Syes heffer and Puding heffer, a fether bed and a pot. Item I give my son Wm a tract land called Dublin cont. three hundred acres. Item I give to daughter Margret a tract of land called Gladflore cont. one hundred acres. Item I give to daughter Jane a tract of land called Gladstones Adventure cont. one hundred acres. Item I give unto my son John a tract of Land lying in the Indian Town cont. three hundred and fifty acres of land confirmed to me by Francis Anderton. Item I give to all my children equally to be divided nine thousand lbs tobacco due from Edward Harper on the confirming (a tract of land sold him called Glasco) by my son William and case of mortality to be done by my son John. Item I give to all my children equally to be divided amongst them the product of fourteen hundred foot of pine plank and those shigles that lie at my landing. Item I give to all my children equally to be divided the product of my shallot but the sd shallot to be at the disposing of John Ryder and he to render the produce to my children. Item I desire my son Wm make over a tract of land Daniel Security upon the consideration that John Ryder pay four thousand pounds of tobacco to my children equally to be divided amongst them except one thousand out of the sd tobacco to be pay John Macuett for salecating? my son William. And I desire nothing be disposed of without the advice of my well and trusty friend Mr. Thomas Hick Sr and John Ryder whom I leave trust over my children. Item I give to my children equally to be divided amongst them that tract of land Huit contrivance cont. four hundred acres when disposed of and all the rest of my personal estate good & chattels whatforever I give and bequeath unto my loving son William Gladstone full and sole executorship of this my last will & testament, and desare that my body may be buried and I do hereby revoke disanull and make void all forms of wills and testaments by me heretoforemade.
