WILL OF HUGH HANDLY 

In the name of God Amen, this 3rd day of December 1753 I Hugh Handly of Maryland 
in the county of Dorchester, Planter, being very sick and weak in body but of 
perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God – therefore calling unto mind the 
mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all ___ to die do make 
and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first 
of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for 
my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and ___ 
manner at the _____ation of my executors nothing doubting but at the General 
Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as 
touching such worldly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this 
life I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. 
_________I give to my well beloved wife and three children an equal share of 
_____moveables and likewise the land beginning at the head of ______ 
Branch_____SW more or less __________________________making mention of the 
northern part and the rest of the land to my wife during her life 
_______________ and after the d______ of my wife ye? Land I give to my well 
beloved son Handy Handley and I do hereby utterly disallow _______and disannull 
and all and every other former Testaments, Wills and __________ and Executors by 
me in my ________ before this time named willed and bequeathed _________ and 
confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in ___________ I 
have hereunto __________my hand and seal __ day and the year above mentioned. 

Signed, sealed, published, pronounced and declared by the said Testator as his
