A formatted version can be Viewed at http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/dorchester/wills/hayward-h.pdf Henry Hayward (d1762) Will Dorchester County MD Maryland Hall of Records Liber 31, folio 603 (Microfilm SR 4425-2) Written 31 December 1756 Proved 12 May 1762 In the Name of God Amen I Henry Hayward of Dorchester County in the province of Maryland being sick and weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God Therefore calling to mind that it is appointed for all men once to Dye to make and ordaine and appoint this to be my last Will & Testament ? ? these presents Revolke and Disannul and make void all other and former will or wills by me heretofore made and I do allow and Constitute this and no other to be my last Will and Testament Imprimis I give and bequeath my Soul to God who gave it me hoping thro the merits of Jesus Christ to Obtain Remission of all my Sins Secondly I Committ my Body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named Item I Give to my Son Thomas Hayward a hundred and Eighty two Acres of Land being part of a pcell of Land Called Beaver Neck beginning at the Division Tree at the Landing running with the Division (Coses?) to the North East line then to the end of the Northwest Line thence with a strait line to the Division Tree at the Landing a hundred and thirty Acres to be Reducted out of it to Discharge my Debts and Bond (and Remainder part) to Collonel Joseph Ennalls and Remainder part to my son Thomas Hayward his heirs and assigns I likewise order that all my Just Debts to be honestly paid and out of my personal Estate and the remainder of the said personal Estate to be divided equally between my Son and Daughter Thomas Adling Hayward Lastly I appoint my son Thomas Hayward my only and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament as Witness my hand and Seal this thirty first Day of December one thousand seven hundred and fifty six Henry Hayward (seal) Signed Sealed published pronounced and delivered by the said Henry Hayward as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers John Traverse Thomas Pitt One the back of the aforegoing will was the following probate Vizt On the 12{th} Day of May Anno Dom 1762 John Traverse and Thomas Pitt the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing Will being duly and Solemnly Sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God deposed and sayd that they Saw the Testator Henry Hayward Sign the foregoing Will and heard him publish and Declare the same to be his last Will and Testament that at the time of his do Doing he was to the best of their apprehension of Sound and Disposing mind and memory and that they Subscribed their respective Names as Witnesses to the said Will in the presence of the Testator and at his request Certifyed p Jam{s} Auld Deputy Commissary Dorchester County
