George Kirkman of Dorchester County, Jan. 30 1749: To my son, George, Jr., my 
plantation; my dwelling house to my wife, Elizabeth; to my son, Roger Kirkman, 
my comfortable riding equipment and certain sterling; and my movable estate to 
be divided between my four children, to-wit: George Kirkman, Jr., James 
Kirkman, Roger Kirkman, and Ann Kirkman Tayford. My son, George Kirkman, jr., 
my executor.
Witnesses: Daniel Sulivane, James Lyrell, Noble Hobbs.

Addenda: Elizabeth Kirkman, the widow of George Kirkman, renounced the legacy 
bequeathed her and will be concluded by what the law in such cases gives her. 
March 1, 1749.

Additional Comments:
Son James named in the will is the ancestor of the submitter. His wife's name 
was Mary.
George's wife Elizabeth's maiden name was Griffith. She was the daughter of 
Samuel Griffith and Elizabeth Anne Evans
