Le Compte, Register of Wills for Dorchester County In The Name of God Amen. I, James McCready of Dorchester County in The State of Maryland, Being in good health of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, Considering the Certainty of Death and The uncertainty of the time Thereof and Being Desirous to Settle My worldly affairs and thereby Be the Better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to Call me hence, Do therefore make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say First and principally, I commit My Soul into the hands of Almighty God and My Body to the earth to Be Decently Buried at the discretion of My Executor hereinafter named And after My Debts and funeral charges are paid.. I devise and Bequeath as follows. I Give and Bequeath unto Jonathan A. McCready my older son my lot of ground whereon he now lives. A part of a tract of land called St. Bartholemews lot No. two containing twenty seven and one half acres more or less to him the said Jonathan A. McCready forever. Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas B. McCready, my youngest son my lot of land on Whereon I now live . a part of a tract of land called St. Bartholemews Lot No. 1 containing 27 and three quarter acres, more or less. To him the said Thomas B. McCready forever. Item I also give and bequeath to my son Thomas B. McCready one bed and furniture first choice, and after my Debts and funeral Expense are paid out of my personal estate the balance of it to be equally divided among my heirs. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Jonathan A. McCready to be sole Executor of this my last Will and testament. Ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last Will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hererunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight. Signed, sealed, published and declared by James McCready the above named testator, as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
