All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Mark Ault meault@yahoo.com February 17, 2009, 5:21 pm Remove Slaves from Virginia Written: June 10, 1822 Recorded: June 10, 1822 Frederick County Land Records JS 15 701 At the request of Christian Kemp the following instrument to remove slaves is recorded 10 June 1822 to wit: Virginia Baker and Corbin Baker became entitled at the death of their mother Elizabeth O’Loughlin, formerly Elizabeth Baker late of Jefferson County Virginia to the following negroes to wit, Josiah aged about twenty one years, Beckey aged about sixteen years, and Sam aged about fourteen years. Christian Kemp of Frederick County Maryland became the guardian of the said Virginia Baker and Corbin Baker and had a law to pass to remove said negroes into the State of Maryland. Have removed said negroes agreeable to said law given from under hand this 10 th day of June 1822.
