Declaration
Written: May 27, 1796
Recorded: May 27, 1796

Frederick County Land Records – WR 14 274

At the request of Christian Kemp the following declaration was recorded 27th 
May 1796 to wit
Harriet Baker of Berkeley County Virginia was possessed and entitled to the 
following negroes to wit one negroe girl about fourteen years of age named Saib
[?] one negroe boy about twelve years of age name Jerry and one negroe girl 
about nine years of age named Milly.  The subscriber Christian Kemp of 
Frederick County Maryland married the said Harriet Baker on the twenty eighth 
of April last and removed the said negroes into Frederick County Maryland on 
the seventh day of May seventeen hundred and ninety six.  The above negroes 
were born in Berkeley County Virginia aforesaid and always lived there until 
their removal aforesaid that the mother or mothers of the said negroes have 
been in Berkeley County Virginia aforesaid upwards of twenty years.  Given 
under my hand this 27th May 1796.
