All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Mark Ault meault@yahoo.com February 8, 2009, 11:48 am Earnest Choice Written: October 25, 1796 Recorded: November 21, 1796 Frederick County Land Records - WR 14 645 At the Request of Judith Kemp the following deed was recorded the 21st day of November 1796 to wit: This indenture was made the twenty fifth day of October seventeen hundred and ninety six between Jacob Kemp, Catharine Kemp, Jacob Kenzie and Elizabeth his wife representatives of Devalt Kemp late of Frederick County and state of Maryland deceased of the one part and Judith Kemp, widow of said county of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jacob Kemp, Catharine Kemp, Jacob Kenzie and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of five punds current money to them in hand paid by the said Judith Kemp the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given granted bargained sold aliened on ????? and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien ???? and confirm unto the said Judith Kemp her heirs and assigns forever all that part of a tract of land lying in said county called Earnest Choice on the North side of Pipe Creek. Beginning at the end of thirty five perches on the sixth course of said Earnest Choice and running thence south thirty seven degrees, east fifteen perches North fifty nine degrees, east eleven perches North thirty seven degrees west fifteen perches then by a straight line to the beginning, containing one acre of land more or less. Together with all rights profits benefits and advantages to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold unto the said Judith Kemp her heirs assigns forever all the right title property and estate of them the said Jacob Kemp, Catharine Kemp, Jacob Kenzie and Wlizabeth his wife of in and to the said land and premises and every part and parcel thereof. In Witness whereof the Jacob Kemp, Catharine Kemp, Jacob Kenzie and Elizabeth his wife hat hereto set their hands and seals the day and year aforesaid. Signed sealed and delivered Jacob Camp {seal} In the presence of Catha Kemp her mark {sea} Jno Gwinn Jacob Kintze {sea} Jos Sim Smith Elize Kenzie her mark {seal} Whis was thus endorsed to wit. Frederick county to with. On the 25th day of October 1796 came Jacob Kemp, Catharine Kemp, Jacob Kenzie and Elizabeth his wife before the subscribers two of the Justices for said county and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed and the lands and premises therein mentioned to be the right and estate of Judith Kemp her heirs and assigns forever.
