The said Charles Myers was the son of Jacob Myers born Jan 8” 1793 died Sept 30” 1835 and his ( ) wife Elizabeth Ridge born Dec 12” 1794 died July 10” 1840 married April 6” 1815 3. The said Elizabeth Ridge was the daughter of William Ridge born ____ died ____ and his ( ) wife Rebecca Springer born _____ died ____ married Nov. 1781 An he, the said William Ridge is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of a soldier of the Revolutionary War. -------------------- Date of Marriage May Be Substituted for Dates of Birth and Death. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any woman may be eligible for membership who is of the age of eighteen years, and who is descended from a man or woman who, with unfailing loyalty, rendered material aid to the cause of Independence; from a recognized patriot, a soldier or sailor or a civil officer in one of the several Colonies or States, or of the United Colonies or States; Provided that the applicant be acceptable to the Society. Official proof of service must be furnished with the application; also references to authorities quoted, to show line of descent. Where reference is made to unpublished or inaccessible records, the applicant must file duplicate certified copies of same. Statements based upon tradition alone cannot be considered. -------------------- My ancestor’s service in assisting in the establishment of American Independence during the War of the Revolution were as follows: William Ridge served in Gunby’s Regiments from Frederick County, Sate of Maryland June 6” 1778. Time of service 9 months Date of discharge not given William Ridge appears again as a discharged soldier of the two battalions of malitia raised to serve in the Continental Army in yr. 1781 from Dorchester County State of Maryland Record of Service procured from Office of Adjutant general. Do not know her husband first name. She did have a daughter named Francis.
