Cramer and Flickenger's public sale of stock cattle which took place here on Saturday last, was largely attended, and the stock brought high prices. Messrs. C. Winebrener and F. Hoffman have commenced work preparatory for the erection of a new house. Mr. Thomas Benutt spent last Sunday at New London visiting friends. On last Thursday night, a serenade was given Dr. M. I. Zimmerman by telephone from the box of J. M. Smith, Woodsboro. The instruments used were a harmonicum by Charles Stout and a cornet by Wm. Smith. Much credit is due the young men for the skillful manner in which the instruments were played.
