THOS. BALTZELL, SR.
The Tiffin, Ohio, Daily Tribune of December 28 said:
BALTZELL – At his residence, on Clay street, Sunday morning, December 27, Thos. 
Baltzell, Sr., aged 81 years, 5 months and 5 days.

  The deceased was born in Frederick, Md., July 22, 1815.  He came to Tiffin in 
1836 and ever since has resided in the county.  In June, 1844, he was married 
to Miss Caroline Souder, who with nine children survive him.  The surviving 
children are: Charles, of Philadelphia, Mrs. Shumaker, of Rigley; Mrs. 
Harbinson, of Cincinnati, and Henry, Thos. J., Mrs. C. S. Metz, Mrs. John W. 
Brown and Misses Flora and Nettie of this city.  One daughter, Mrs. J. C. 
Boyer, is dead.
  December 11, Mr. Baltzell was stricken with apoplexy from which he never 
recovered.  The deceased was one of the best known and most respected citizens 
of the county.  The funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock; 
interment in [????] Lawn cemetery.
