The funeral of Mrs. Sarah A. Bevard wife of Mr. Jonathan R. Bevard, aged 62 years 2
months and 9 days, who died on Saturday night last, took place Tuesday at 2 o’clock 
p.m., at the M. E. church in New Market.  Rev. W. N. Meeks officiated and preached 
the sermon to a large audience, despite the extremely cold weather.  Her husband 
and six children survive her.  Interment was made in the New Market cemetery.  I. S. 
Russell had charge of the funeral arrangements.  The pall bearers were Adam Boyer, 
Grafton Clay, C. N. Ketrow, Charles Wood, M. Eader, G. W. Burgess.
