Mrs. John Carty
  Mrs. Elda M. Carty, wife of John Carty, Thurmont, died Monday Morning at 8 
o’clock at Washington’s Sibley Hospital, aged 47 years, 1 month and 7 days.  
Surviving besides her husband are these children, Mrs. Lloyd Wastler, 
Washington, Mrs. Dolly Adkins, at home; Carl Carty, Hagerstown; Richard Carty, 
Washington; Robert, Wayne, Joseph and Larry Carty, at home; six grandchildren 
and these brothers and sister; Mrs. George Brice, Thurmont; Mrs. Elmer Sipler, 
Hagerstown; Mrs. Jerry Martin, Thurmont; Ellsworth Stitely, Thurmont; Clifford 
Stitely, Frederick and a half-brother, Russell Wollard, Hagerstown.  The body 
will rest at the funeral home in Thurmont this morning, where friends may call 
until time of the funeral services there, Wednesday afternoon at 3.30 
o’clock.  Burial in Blue Ridge cemetery, Thurmont.  M. L. Creager and Son, 
funeral directors.
