Clinton F. Crampton died on Friday last in New York city of pneumonia. His illness was of short duration. He was a bright and promising young man and was beloved by all his companions. He left his home here several years ago and secured a situation on the New York Elevated Railroad. At the time of his death he was one of their station masters. His remains reached here Sunday at noon and were conveyed to St. Mark’s burial ground where they were interred. Accompanying the remains was a beautiful arch five feet in height, made from the most beautiful flowers that could be procured in the city. An anchor suspended in the arch, beneath which was a pillow of the most delicate flowers; perched upon the top was a lonely dove with outstretched wings. The above was presented by the employees of the railway company showing their high esteem for their departed friend. The pall-bearers were Columbus O’Donnell, Charles M. Wenner, Luther Luckett, J. P. West, Wm. L. Gross and Frank Schroeder.
