Miss Alice Katherine Cronise
  Miss Alice Katherine Cronise,101 W. 12th St., Frederick, died Monday 
morning, Aug. 27, at Meridian Nursing Center, where she had been a guest.
  Born Dec. 26, 1900, in Harmony Grove, Miss Cronise was a daughter of the 
late Clayton Howard and Katherine LaMar Cronise.
  Miss Cronise was educated at Frederick Girl’s School and graduated with the 
Class of 1917.  Her college studies began at Western Maryland College, 
followed by the University of Maryland and Hood College.  In 1921, she was 
appointed to Washington Street School (renamed South Frederick Elementary 
School in 1962) where she taught until her retirement in 1970 after 50 years 
of service.
  Miss Cronise was a livelong member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
  Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Beartrice Cronise Davis, Binghamtom, M.Y., 
and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
  Interment services will be at the convenience of the family.
  The family requests those desiring send memorial contributions to 
Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 E. Church St., Frederick, Md. 21701.
